the hard backed clouds can help in just about all small rooms. they're less effective in larger spaces for obvious reasons. the thing is - you can adjustment them (i use plural because just like wave guides (which they are effectively that) there may be several in a row) to accomplish the change nee...

Small control room design mk2

not sure if Pella is available in the UK as they have top end windows which are wood wrapped with aluminium :-) the wood is machined to fit the metal frame resulting in high density and a resilient exterior. i believe Martin, and some Andersen products may have similar lines.

another garage

nice work!

note: for those where celinet isn't available (like US) a similar product is called Tectum V - wood fibers and portland cement - very often used in gyms and auditoriums. https://www.tectum.com/ of course there are lots of options...

if you have access to SU (such as the free downloadable Make 2017 version - the web version doesn't support dynamic components) attached is a dynamic component for sizing up a simple soffit wall.

my room absorbs a lot of the lower mids although I have not treated excessively

the absorption you described would target 100hz and up, although how you took the measurements would be helpful.

you can leave the top open however as the bottom is close, you extend the baffle with plywood behind the face insulation (which you may have done already). this provides the baffle extension needed and because it's (mostly) soft, you help with absorbing reflections off the front of your desk/console...
