OSB as a base layer under drywall - off gassing?
depends on the OSB product and your locale. some OSB is sufficient, i tend use it on walls, but prefer plywood on the ceiling. this way you should have better support for heavy stuff above. unless you can get good quality OSB (which in the US tends to be lower quality than plywood).

Rotofast hangers for fiberglass acoustic panels
7013 Rotofast standard acoustical panel hanger thanks for the lead. basically if you have an open back 703 (or equiv semi-rigid insulation) based absorber, then the standard model basically cuts into the absorbing material. then again, light weight panels could readily be hung with insulation hooks...

What about Acoustical Room Dimensions?
have you considered partnering with ODEON etc to see if it's something they could implement into their already expansive package of room simulation functionality? get a license fee instead of building and maintaing it yourselves? partner with the other ACCON groups in the EU?

What about Acoustical Room Dimensions?
sure, a recursion process to get to a set of "best" options would be nice. there are several room sizing programs, and some include proper speaker / location specifications as parameters, and iteratively work to identify the best size and locations. and some can work with existing rooms (m...

Designing my future home studio
one simple approach which has worked in any number of small mix/record rooms - put a packing blanket over the kit when not in use. this keeps dust off the kit and does a pretty good job of damping the kit. maybe a couple of blankets. one person i know made covers for each drum and a blanket over the...

without the ceiling treatments for the dips in 70-100hz, this looks pretty decent.

Monitor Mounting options
pretty sure many live shows use trusses and/or poles to mount speakers, and large events are surprisingly very sophisticated in their response for listening - including things liked beamed subwoofer arrays etc. so it's definitely an option, and might even have a really cool look.

Monitor Mounting options
decoupling the stands is the same as decoupling the speakers from the stands. ceiling mounts may not need to be complex. look into some ceiling isolation braces to mount the speaker bracket onto. e.g. some isolation mounts for equipment etc - adding a small increase in depth from the ceiling but suf...

Monitor Mounting options
you could use the heavy stands, then decouple the speakers from the stand, or decouple the stange + speaker from the floor. ultimately the speaker decoupled will depend on the weight of each unit, or the ability to "press" down on the speaker to get the right compression. i suggest all ear...

Speakerbox - flush mount
that should be fine. i'd put a .75cm rubber mat on the bottom and on either side to keep it from moving. if the speaker has feet, maybe creating recesses for the feet in the bottom will work.

excellent! yeah, as things get quieter and quieter suddenly you find other places which transfer the sound or make noises - framing, shared concrete pads, ducts, electrical wiring strung tightly between isolated walls, conduits, hvac noises, etc. but on the plus side, once you're below 50-55db, your...

the speaker and box - my recommendation is a slightly snug fit to prevent movement.
