OSB as a base layer under drywall - off gassing?

7016 I used plywood in my build for the reasons you mentioned and also more mass. I have 1 plywood, 2 5/8" layers with green glue on all layers. I recommend plywood over OSB because it holds screws better and its a bit denser. Thanks for your input! Ugh, plywood is so expensive. It's twice the...

Finally got a chance to get my measurements in order. The following were taken with no ceiling treatment other than the built in soffits. Front wall, some side wall, and rear corner treatments. Before I kept going with the cloud and rear wall, I wanted to take a measurement and understand if I am ev...

Well, got the speakers out there and haven’t done a REW yet, but I will say I hear so much more detail in the music it’s wild. It’s like every frequency range is excited all at the same time. There is a tightness to the bass I’ve never had before and I can pick out everything in the mix including ef...

Just wanted to take a moment to share some great news! The permits and inspections have all been closed and approved. The building is now officially done as far as the township is concerned. While I still have a lot of work to do with treatment and wiring up, this is a major milestone for me to have...

Today was a big day. We installed the 5/8 and 3/8” laminated glass between the control and live rooms. I’m getting about 45dbc of isolation between the rooms without proper seals on the doors yet. You can actually pinpoint that the door bottoms which have no seal are the place that sound is coming t...

6939 I’m really very bad at finishing work ... Your photos show the opposite, that you are paying attention and doing it very well. I know it is hard work but bravo to you for being so diligent. Well done! Thank you so much for the kind words of support! I am at the finish line, Id say 98%. Needed ...

Exhausting. I added these nice iron pipes to the soffits. The plan is to make gobos that I use in the recording space but then hang them up when I go to mix.

Fabric wrapping is hard work. I’m really very bad at finishing work, this is a bit of torture, but it looks amazing.

Ok so we have the 40kg/m^3 on the inside loosely stuffed, and the 128kg/m^3 rigid rockboard 80 on the outside. Rear corner traps are 7.5" thick with 6" of soft and 1.5" of rigid on the face an 7" of airgap. Front bass traps are 12" deep super chunk style. Looking good! Going...
