Door seal rubber in the UK?
Hello & howdo'? I bought some 4731 weatherstripping from 'Clips & Fasteners' in Anaheim, California. It's $50 for 50 feet (+postage) and is the profile specified by Rod G in his book. I had to wait a week for it to be stocked but remarkably, it was delivered two days after despatch (far quic...

Hello again one & all, I hope you are all staying well and managing to maintain relative sanity! The recent re-availability of building materials has allowed me to make some modest progress on my build this week but before I get on to that, I think it’s worth mentioning something that might be u...

Did I really only do one day's work this week? Ignoring twisting cables, shopping for supplies and studying things I don't yet fully understand, it looks that way. Sounds like much more than a day's work to me. I've just spent 2 days simply tanking my studio and it feels like a lifetime! Looking gr...

Thanks for the encouragement Starlight (a little goes a long way)! I have managed to obtain the materials I need to get going on my outer leaf and I'm making steady progress and I'll update my build thread as soon as I find time. How's your studio progressing, it seemed very close to complete last t...

Plus one for that sentiment Tom! Great news that your studio is clearly on course to achieve what you hoped it would. May I ask if you developed a preference for any particular type of caulk? I'm just about to start cladding and although I know low modulus (stretchy) sealants are recommended for thi...

I hope everyone is well, safe and not finding social distancing too much of a burden. I have been trying to offset the frustrations of various delays by re-examining my design; I think I finally understand how to make the ductless mini-split system work as well as it can in my room and I’ve also bee...

It's really taking shape and looking good Tom - great to see some positive progress. I'm guessing that your first session has been delayed due to the lock down.

Thank you very much for your reply Purelythemusic, This is exactly what I was hoping for. I have called a local drainage contractor who is visiting tomorrow to see if there is a solution to be found there, but it occurs to me that I should tank the outer leaf anyway, whatever else I do as part of a ...

Very impressive! It's incredible how much work you're getting done in such a short timeline. I'm looking forward to hearing more about those doors in particular.

The water is definitely coming in through the small gap between the slab damp course and the wall. I'm going to call a drainage company tomorrow but I suspect my budget is blown.
