New build small size high isolation project
991 That's a really cool use of the insulation washers, nice one. I required a handful of these a few months ago but minimum economic buy was 50. Nice to know I'll be able to use them eventually! Cheers, Jennifer Thanks! Yea, I did umm and ahh about it...I wondered if they might cause some turbulen...

New build small size high isolation project
Well it’s been a weird week. I thought we’d have the duct liner on Wednesday am but it didn't make an appearance until Thursday, by which time we were busy on other bits so today was the day for duct lining. It is tricky to get it all in as singular section as possible. You don’t want longitude join...

849 Don't worry too much about that. We can make use of the extra in other places in your studio. Save all of your scrap insulation, of all types, as it can be probably be used for fill, in unexpected places... - Stuart - Ah ok great! I have had another thought about the AHU location and silencer l...

Hi Starlight,

The actually manufacture insulation for Knauf etc, they’re not a retailer so don’t expect any of that sort of service... I’m having to over order... how many m2 do you reckon you’ll need?

Re: New build small size high isolation project
The render went on pretty well and I got the plinth base coated with high moisture resistant basecoat suitable for below dpc and ground contact conditions as the outside level will be raised a bit. 7A17FA48-EFD4-41BC-8978-EC244DEFB2D9.jpeg 377ADDD3-5358-4CF6-B377-DC3064EB59A6.jpeg 826894CA-E4BB-4D86...

Re: New build small size high isolation project
Hi All, The duct liner is planned for delivery Wednesday am next week so we did what we could easily on the silencer then turned our attention outside as the weather has been dry this week! Got the MLV stuck to the MDF, that stuff is so hard to measure accurately! It stretches and compresses so your...

Re: New build small size high isolation project
Hooray! Finally got to a position where we can start building the silencers! We welded a metal frame to support the silencer while it is built, lifted and persuaded into position. It sits on a Genie lift which will winch up and down. We’re having to build the silencers in the corridor, which has lim...

Re: In-Duct Air Velocity?
From my super limited knowledge and soon to be moderately limited experience, I think I can say it is not necessary outside the inner leaf... where are your ‘inner leaf silencers’? If they’re outside the inner room then just the duct/sleeve from the inner room silencers would need liner... I’m sure ...

Re: New build small size high isolation project
The time has come. I have a bit of a plan of how we are going to build and instal the largest and heaviest silencers. I was originally planning on building a timber frame which would support the silencer along it’s length so it didn’t bend and break under it’s own weight. Then then it was up there h...

Re: New build small size high isolation project
Hi All, Not a lot to report for this week, weather has been heavy cloud which has kept the temperature up enough to render the EPS with the basecoat which makes the building essentially weather tight!... bar the outside door... We also received all the silencer box cuts so I’ll formulate the cunning...
