Door seal rubber in the UK?

Hey, how did you get on with seals? The batwing type seem similar to the type from zero international… I had epdm rubber seals on the outer studio door but is toooo thick, starts at 12mm and with a lot of force compresses to about 8mm… but essentially leaves a lower mass 8mm gap… it does seem to wor...

Yay! Some movement at last. I’ve built a small floor to walk in on out of wood from the loft conversion I did last year for a customer and damaged boards at the merchant (not pictured)… can you tell I’m conscious of budget? We are finally doing the Silencers!!!!!!! Cut the Sorbothane Duro 50 slab 38...

New build small size high isolation project

Oh I forgot to mention I’m planning to separate the silencers a little, should make connecting up much easier. And the air con guy and I couldn’t work out why we would need complicated plenum boxes to try to take a portion of the stale air out and to put fresh in… I think it was designed that way so...

Some movement at last! I have an air con unit! Air handler is slimline fitted to the ceiling: AB53DA5C-DE9F-48AF-82C9-5D69B70CE114.jpeg ABACAAC6-831B-46CA-917A-AA03BFDB9BCE.jpeg It’s a 3.5kw system based on the hopeful use for the future. Won’t get into the calcs now but basically it should work wel...

Hi Paul! Ahhh so sorry I missed this! No I didn’t need to vent the cavity probably partly because of the external insulation 70mm EPS which is enough to eliminate interstitial condensation but also the render is less likely to let in any rain due to it’s makeup but also massive flexibility. On top o...

4667 I also feel like it would be structurally safer for the fresh air in and stale out would be better as a circular core than trying to do a square hole for those boxes… then I could install the first filters just inside the building…they make these slot filter boxes I think. Makes sense, it made...

Thanks Starlight! I think I will! The HVAC guy is sussing me out before he does a full quote… he’s called today to raise my expectations… he reckons it’ll be a 3.5 or 5kw ‘heat pump’ with outdoor unit, he thinks between £3.5k and £5k that’s if I do the ducting for the fresh air and of course make al...

Friends, I have Covid! Thankfully for me being double vaccinated, I am not suffering. I had a couple of days being unable to do much at all. It means this is the first time I have had unplanned time off so during isolation I am rapidly getting back in mind the immediate next steps to move the studio...

Site-built door pair, for high isolation.

Hi All, After some extensive (in my view) research, I have been purchasing at a good price self adhesive batwing seals and drop seals from http://www.firesealsdirect.co.uk I almost purchased in 3 or more different locations before finally finding these guys who were selling the same products by name...

Site-built door pair, for high isolation.

1483 It seems to me it would be easier to build the door like this. 1. Start with an ordinary solid-core door (no window – keep it simple) 2. Install the drop-down threshold seal, at the bottom of the door 3. Make the door frame and put it in place 4. Hang the door with several heavy-duty hinges 5....

Oh Boy, that is a shock and a great loss.

Thanks to his dedication many many people around the world will be thinking amd understanding sound differently. His dedication to the truth in acoustics has helped and will continue to help everyone who is willing to learn. What a legacy.

Hi Paul,

Yea for sure! I’ll be ordering some mids… the Tweeters on mine are £90 each so better than changing the baffle but surely yours must be set up differently…they may not be compatible… I’ll take some pictures though when I get changing!
Be great to meet up for sure!

Hi Paul! Wow great to hear from someone else with these speakers! I love Joan Armatrading’s music that’s lovely to know : ) I have a Quested D1500S amp and it has no fans... my speakers just have the one pair of terminals for wiring so sounds like yours may have been custom made in that way or a lat...
