Estúdio Paráiso Nas Nuvens, Central Portugal

I am happy to say that my studio is complete now... I guess studios are never really finished as you are always adding, getting new gear, fine tuning, etc.. but the basic studio is finished now. This has been a very long journey. Stuart made the basic design for my studio about 5 years ago and the first design appeared in Dec 2017. Anyway, while the studio was not built exactly to the design that Stuart made, it was pretty close. Dimensions of the three rooms are nearly identical, the ceiling heights, windows and door location. In the end we made a front wall of the control room with sand and no window and opted for TV screens instead.

The architectual design for the building was modified based on Stuarts sketch up drawings by a local architect and that is what we got approved after 18 months of waiting and delays.. This was before Covid.. Evetually Joules Newell was selected to build the inside based on Stuarts design, which he had to modify in several ways in order to fit into my budget (70,000€).

Anyway, the building was started in March 2021 and May 2022, we are now complete and ready to record once I sort out the software issues that we are having... A dream come true.. Here are some of the final pictures..

Exciting times ahead.... Thanks again to all involved and all that have given input.. Now it is time to learn how to use LUNA and Logic X to record bands.. This is all new to me...

Congratulations Scott, that is some achievement and testimony to your dedication and persistence. Hopefully you'll put some photos up of the studio being used, and also the recordings made, I'd love to hear the results of all your labour.

I will echo Jennifer's congratulations as you persisted to see the studio through to its completion. Yes, a few photos and recording of the place being used would be the icing on the cake.
