please tell me about acoustics

All about acoustics. This is your new home if you already have a studio or other acoustic space, but it isn't working out for you, sounds bad, and you need to fix it...

Hi all! At the moment I have an unfinished room
Dimensions:
Height: 3.6 m
Length: 8 m
Width: 3.7 m

I have some thoughts about the front wall, I thought to do this:

Can you please tell me how it will work for me?

I would also like to consult with local experts about the design of the ceiling, what are some interesting options?

My budget: 4000$

I've no idea how your front wall will work, sorry!

A note of caution about your room dimensions though;

EBU Tech. 3276 - "Listening conditions for the assessment of sound programme material" is an informative document specifying ideal control room outcomes. On room dimensions it states:
ratios of l, w and h which are within + 5% of integer values should also be avoided

The height and width of your room are within 5% of each other, making it effectively "square" in that plane. It will make the room modes derived from those dimensions combine and therefore be difficult to treat. You could end up with a very unbalanced room in terms of frequency response and resonances.

Check out the document for more information. https://tech.ebu.ch/docs/tech/tech3276.pdf

Cheers,
Jennifer
