It looks like you have the frequency / SPL chart within the range of 75 to 90 dB. For a room this size, that is a superb result. I'm afraid I have no experience of tuned traps so can't offer help there. You may well be into the point of diminishing returns with a room this size though, and the results you have are already superb.
How well does it work for mixing, especially in terms of the low end. Bass drums, bass guitar, low end of guitars and piano etc.?
Saying that, you may be able to get a little bit of improvement around the 109 Hz area by improving the bass trapping pertaining to your width dimension, i.e. the side walls. Would it be possible to space the existing traps away from the wall? For example, if they are 4" deep, leave a 4" gap.
You might also get some benefit by having some more superchunk type traps along the side wall / ceiling corner.
According to EBU Tech 3276 the nominal RT60 time for your room would be about 0.2s, so it is a bit dry sounding, as you say. The slat based traps would certainly help. I haven't built one of those, but it goes without saying you should make sure the slats are sized and spaced for a specific purpose, i.e. to address a frequency range you have identified as important.
Cheers,
Jennifer

Man, that closet trap and the corner chunks made a HUGE difference—those decay times are looking awesome!
To get under 300ms at 50Hz is super tough in an apartment room like this, but you're really close! You've done incredible work already.
Those 92Hz/120Hz dips are classic SBIR, and your plan to hit the first reflection points (side walls) and add that hard-backed cloud is exactly right for the next stage.

Hey thanks for the compliment.
It was a pretty cool project to undertake for sure!
Sadly the studio was short lived, although my new room is only a 10x10 bedroom, it’s in a house, and I can play drums. I kept all those hangers for a future build. And I’ve done some work in the bedroom studio, got it sounding decent for how small it is, but have yet to test it and finish it properly.
Planning to build a desk very soon with rack storage. Was going to borrow from Stuart’s design but I think it’s too large/deep for my room with super chunks and speaker placement, so considering some other ideas.
parenthood hit us like a ton of bricks, so i haven’t been able to get on here much aside from the occasional search for an answer to my incredibly specific questions.
Best, Vic

Another season of life, another attempt to build an overly troublesome and temporary home studio. Figured I'd share and seek opinions, advice, compliments etc.
Seriously though, Stuart, Jennifer and this forum have really been my education along the way all these years so thank you. Hope everyone is doing well sorry I disappeared, life has been eventful and finding time has been difficult for this hobby as of late.
I unfortunately did not got reliable REW baseline measurements this time around, i tried before i began this current phase of construction, but long story short the interface settings got adjusted when i wasn't looking, (didn't document it, love having kids tho lol).
Either way I was not able to empty this room to measure, wish i did, but when we moved in i immediately hung/built some traps as i had no where else to put anything. We are literally bursting at the seams in this small rental home, the bedroom is too small for all the music stuff so theres kind of gear all over the place. It's also the furthest room down a narrow hallway, furthest from the garage, which is also just too full/ dirty, mostly of tools and other home projects. Did i mention we have two little ones running around all the time? A blessing, however challenging to work around.
Bedroom measurements, (terrible dimensions i know):
131" long
126.625 or 126 5/8" wide
~96" / 8ft tall
at one corner of the room is an approximately 48"w x 30" deep closet
adjacent a 36" x 60" or so window.
I've added a crappy split/window AC that i had to custom frame a little opening to fit in there.
Would like to upgrade this when possible, more on that later.
Within the first few months I filled the closet with fluffy insulation r19 floor to ceiling, with two support shelves about 36" and 72 " tall to prevent compression. The same super chunks from the last room were installed along with the two large angled clouds and smaller flat cloud.
Fast forward a couple years
Built a rack then a desk
Then i think i measured it right after i put the desk in, i think I draped a heavy blanket over the drums and there is nothing on the side wall reflection points still. These screen grabs are from the first measurement i took of the room ever.
IF anyone wants me to upload the .mdat i can, but it's kind of a mess so i think running through it little by little and just searching for a few specific solutions is probably best.
Decided to try to do something about the low modes, it's now or never before i get too comfortable, thus began the final phase of the 3rd edition of the home studio. Going to make another progress post once i have some more time.
